Founded in November 2007, Utah Marionette Theatre’s mission is to bring puppetry performance and education to the children and adults of Utah and beyond.
By...

Creating educational programs that teach puppetry skills,

Producing puppet performances by those taught in the educational programs,

Presenting top quality puppet theatre in the Utah public schools.
Building a library and archives of books, videos, magazines and other resource materials.
And preserving and promoting international traditions of puppetry.

In partnership with the Lehi City Arts Council, and with a grant from the Utah Arts Council, Utah Marionette Theatre has produced two student based productions. Alice in Wonderland in May, and A Christmas Carol in December 2008. Both productions were the culmination of 3 – 5 months of preparation by the students, who designed, built and manipulated their own marionettes. Utah Marionette Theatre’s newest production, William Shakespeare’s Half Hour Comedy Hour, is an interactive marionette and audience participation performance conceived and written by Artistic Director, Nat Reed. This production will be available for school performances in Fall 2009.
